As a long-time resident of West Baton Rouge Parish, Councilman Walker loves the people and businesses in his parish and wants to help the community grow in a responsible way.
His priorities as a West Baton Rouge Parish councilman are continued infrastructure improvements and public safety measures.
Additional interests of Councilman Walker include medical health services and behavioral health services for residents throughout West Baton Rouge Parish.
Councilman Walker’s party affiliation is Independent and Councilman Walker prioritizes bridging the gap to find bipartisan solutions in local government.

- Councilman Walker would like to Thank Parish Administration, LA-DOTD, and our Parish Council, regarding the lighting project along LA-1.
- Councilman Walker would like to thank LA-DOTD, Parish Administration, Parish Roads Department, and Parish Council for their support regarding the Traffic Safety Design System on Lukeville Lane, Lukeville Ext, and Stonewall Drive. Effective government requires a team approach.

Bridge the Gap
As a public official, it’s imperative that we work together to meet the needs of the communities we serve. We must have a well-balanced approach. Councilman Walker’s party affiliation is Independent and Councilman Walker prioritizes bridging the gap to find bipartisan solutions in local government.
Councilman Walker was selected for the National Association of Counties Health Steering Committee, and was asked to submit and present an interim resolution at the Legislative Conference, which was approved. Councilman Walker and the West Baton Rouge Parish Council approved a resolution requesting passage of House Bill 14 at the Louisiana Legislature’s 2023 session.
Councilman Walker and the West Baton Rouge Parish Council approved a draft resolution authorizing the parish president to enter into a Cooperative Endeavor Agreement with Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development for the purpose of participating in the Road Transfer Program.
The Road Transfer Program is an excellent program designed to bridge the gap by right-sizing state highways to achieve the national average, with benefits to participating parishes throughout our state.
Heart for Service
It’s important that we remain faithful to Jesus and have a willingness to serve Him. As we serve Jesus, we are better equipped to serve God’s people.
Councilman Walker and the West Baton Rouge Parish Council adopted a resolution expressing support for an opening prayer before each council meeting. Councilman Walker led the assembly in the invocation at the State Police Jury Association meeting held in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Councilman Walker also led the opening prayer at the Police Jury Association of Louisiana 2022 Region III Annual Meeting, which was hosted by West Baton Rouge Parish.
Councilman Walker and the West Baton Rouge Council adopted a resolution Supporting Israel and Expressing Solidarity with the People of Israel and the Innocent Civilians of Gaza. Councilman Walker presented the resolution to the Police Jury Association Resolution Committee on 2/29/2024 at the state conference and received overwhelming support. The resolution was adopted. Note: All adopted resolutions at the 2024 Police Jury Association Conference have been submitted to the Governor’s office for review.
